What an event! DIIDA was thrilled to make its debut into Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival (VAMFF) showcasing at Malvern Town Hall, VAMFF High Tea Runway.
This was by far the highlight of the season as DIIDA introduced their new Autumn 2017 Collections which included; The Queen of the Jungle Range, Key to The City White Range and the Sarah G. Chambray Range. All meticulously designed by Creative Director, Dimitria Papafotiou and made locally in Melbourne, these new collections are taking a step forward into the DIIDA world, pushing the boundaries and broadening the selection of statement ready-to-wear pieces.
Well the day played out like any fashionista would expect…situated at the stunning Malvern Town Hall set a beautiful entrance to the show where men and women gathered in their best outfits to check out Stonington’s newest Fashion Collections! To open the show, each table was provided with a gorgeous High Tea setting filled with delicious macaroons, mini sandwiches, fluffy pastries and an abundance of other scrumptious treats!
Next came the runway show! DIIDA had the honour of showcasing last, as everyone anxiously awaited the first piece to step out on to the catwalk, and it was well worth the wait. The Sarah G Chambray Maxi Shirt Dress was first to showcase; a stunning display of street style meeting luxe-glam set the vibe for the entire collection. Statement details like Diida’s signature gold hardware designs, made way through the runway against beautiful Silk’s, luscious Khaki tones and bold Leopard prints, all of which held the audience’s attention. The room became silent as everyone was captured by the innovative designs in front of them, each person trying to work out; who is DIIDA? Well, this show definitely portrayed DIIDA down to every last detail, inspiration and personality, giving the crowd an insight and formal introduction into the world of DIIDA.
It was an extremely emotional and proud day for the DIIDA Team as they watched their hard work shine in the spotlight, in front of hundreds of people tuned into the Fashion Industry. Creative Director Dimitria (aka DIIDA) was brought to tears as she had the realisation that after only less than a year since opening her Flagship Boutique, she was already making debut at one of the biggest Fashion Events in Australia. In this moment, she realised that her dreams and aspirations were finally a reality.
She is DIIDA, and this is her world.
